Ao iniciar a aplicação aparecia a mensagem de erro: webpackJsonp is not defined.
Verifiquei que faltava chamar o vendor.js antes de chamar o main.js para carregar o webpack. Isso no arquivo index.html.

Incluí essa chamada e a aplicação passou a rodar sem o erro.
Se alguém estiver passando por esse problema essa dica pode resolver.
