Dá uma olhada no manifest, na definição da sua activity:

        <activity
            android:name=".ListaAlunosActivity"
            android:label="@string/app_name"
            android:theme="@style/AppTheme.NoActionBar">

Você tá falando que ela não tem action bar, por esse motivo não está exibindo.
