Seu Madruga é visto como um homem bruto e selvagem (como dito pelo seu crítico, Professor Girafales), que perde a paciência com muita facilidade, inclusive com as crianças e especialmente com o Chaves. Costuma se envolver em alguns contratempos com outras pessoas, inclusive alguns vizinhos (principalmente Dona Florinda), e sempre tem uma desculpa para escapar dos problemas (muitas vezes verdadeiras e algumas vezes malandragem).
