Você precisa instalar a biblioteca mcrypt! se você estiver usando o Ubuntu, execute o seguinte comando:
sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get install php7.1-mcrypt -yAí me conta se deu certo :)
Eu utilizo o sistema operacional do macOS, porém fiz o teste mesmo assim não funcionou.
sudo: apt-get: command not found
